We're Mikayla and Fiona, the mother-daughter team being Uplift Bookkeeping & Consulting.
Based in North Brisbane, we provide proactive bookkeeping, BAS services and financial reporting for small businesses across Brisbane and Moreton Bay. We help business owners stay on top of their finances, understand their numbers and make more confident decisions.
We believe good bookkeeping is about more than accurate records and meeting deadlines. It's about having someone in your corner who genuinely cares about your business and the people behind it.

Why We Started Uplift
Before starting Uplift, I'd worked in businesses where poor bookkeeping and advice had created unnecessary stress. But I'd also seen the difference that reliable bookkeeping, good systems and genuine support could make.
I've always loved numbers and helping people, and I wanted to bring those two things together. I wanted to build a business that went beyond reconciling transactions and lodging BAS, helping business owners understand their finances, make better decisions and achieve their goals.
Because behind every small business is someone building something important. Whether that's supporting their family, growing their team or making a difference in their community, I wanted to play a part in helping them succeed.
Mum was always going to be involved. Originally, Fiona was going to join as an employee, but we knew we'd be making decisions together, so becoming business partners just made sense.
And that's how Uplift began. What started as an idea to do bookkeeping differently became a mother-daughter partnership built around helping other business owners acheive their goals.
Mikayla
Co-Founder | Registered BAS Agent
I've worked in bookkeeping, accounts and business operations since 2018, with experience across automotive businesses, smash repairers and an international IT company.
My background includes working as an Office Manager, Bookkeeper and Operations Manager, giving me a practical understanding of what goes into running a business beyond just the numbers.
I'm a qualified bookkeeper and Registered BAS Agent, having completed my Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
What I love most is helping business owners understand their finances, solve problems and build businesses that support their goals.
Outside of Uplift, I'm a mum, a netball lover and always up for a camping trip.
Fiona
Co-Founder | Bookkeeper
I've worked in finance for over 30 years, across everything from small trade businesses to large organisations, including healthcare, government and payroll.
What I love most about bookkeeping is getting to know the people behind the businesses. Every business is different, and I enjoy understanding what makes each one tick and finding ways to make life a little easier for its owner.
For me, good bookkeeping is about honesty, reliability and going that extra step. I want our clients to feel comfortable asking questions, confident their finances are being looked after and reassured that they've got someone genuinely in their corner.
Joining Mikayla at Uplift meant turning something we'd spent many nights dreaming about into a business we could build together.
Outside of work, I love camping with family and friends, playing netball, cheering on the Dolphins and spending time with my grandson. A fun fact? I was once selected for the Australian Indoor Netball Ladies team!
